There are two ways to get from Goa to Hyderabad – via Mahbubnagar or via Yadgir. This year we did the latter.
Distance: 709 km
Time: 16.5 hours
Car: Ford Ecosport
Route: Agonda, Karwar, Hubli, Yadgir, Moinabad, Hyderabad
Start time: 5:00
End time: 21:30
The roads are pretty decent almost all the way through. However, there is construction along the way, but these are short stretches. These are not major highways so they are not divided. Most of the route is just a ribbon of road with traffic coming both ways.
That said, we encountered hardly any traffic and were able to make swift progress.
On the downside, there are no places to eat along the way. We had to wait until we reached Shorapur to grab lunch.
After Yadgir there is a ghat section, but the roads are very good. As long as you are driving safe, it is a breeze to get through.
