As I sat down to write the piece on Harry Potter a set of loudspeakers started out outside my window. As I write they blare out devotional songs set to popular Hindi songs.
I guess the need for blaring loudspeakers is to allow the prayers of the faithful to reach the Gods high above. What I don’t understand is where the days of meditation to talk to the Gods have gone to?
Do we really have to disturb the peace to celebrate our festivals?
